Slicers vs Filters

What is the difference between slicers and filters? Are slicers just portable filters that I can move around the spreadsheet?

In Row Zero, slicers are full-featured filters that you can move anywhere in your workbook. There is no difference between slicers and filters - slicers are just movable filters.

Typically slicers are placed next to charts and pivot tables to make it easy to filter without going back to your source data. Slicers actively change the filters applied to the data.

Here’s more info on how to use slicers and here is a video tutorial:

Note that slicers in Excel and Google Sheets are not filters and are limited to just selecting values. As a result, Row Zero slicers are a lot more powerful than Excel slicers - you can filter on conditions (e.g. >=0), apply multiple filters, search values, select all, unselect all, and filter date groupings like month, week, day, etc. You can also easily create slicers without pivot tables, so you can add slicers to any chart.
