I think my file is too big for Excel. When I try to open my file in Excel, I get an error that says “This data set is too large for the Excel grid.” What is the Excel max row limit for datasets?
The Excel maximum row limit is 1,048,576 rows and the maximum column is 16,384 (column XFD). If you try to import a file larger than that, it will truncate the file at row 1,048,576 and additional rows will not import. If your file is too large for Excel, you can open it in Row Zero. Row Zero easily opens files more than 1 million rows. Here’s a bit more info on Excel limits and here’s a video that breaks down row limits by spreadsheet.
